| Short Summary |
| (Safe home environment for pregnant teens needing
shelter. Provides case management, connections to community
resources, money management, life skills, and mentoring
services.) |
|
| Description |
| There are not-for profit and governmental organizations
throughout Oregon that provide emergency shelter. Services
offered by some shelters are sometimes very basic. Other
shelters provide several services: counseling, help in
finding employment, medical care, and other assistance.
Because there are different needs for the homeless throughout
the state, communities approach the problem in various
ways. Some emphasize providing shelters, some issue vouchers
to pay for persons to stay in inexpensive hotels, and
some provide a combinaton of resources. Contact the agency
listed above for information about funds available in
the community for emergency shelter. |
